Tom Taylor at Inside Radio reports that the president’s Crawford, TX ranch falls right in the Waco market — and that’s where Simmons Media is flipping the switch on a Jack-type country format named "George." The station is programming Mexican right now and had previously been JRN's CD Country before the latest format flip, so it better be VERY different and special if it hopes to make inroads in Waco.
Is the new station named after the Pres? Maybe. After the popular Waco restaurant? Maybe. But, my bet is that Simmons is thinking of the most popular George in Texas, and that would be neither of the above!
