Trace Adkins has a key role in a Veterans Day special to be aired on more than 300 radio stations across the country this weekend.
Adkins joins Faith Hill, Brooks & Dunn, Toby Keith, Craig Morgan, Trisha Yearwood, Martina McBride, Billy Ray Cyrus and many others in "Bob Kingsley Salutes America's Veterans," a two-hour special hosted by Kingsley, the longtime host/producer of "American Country Countdown."Adkins will be part of another Veterans Day event when he performs "Arlington" and the National Anthem at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum?s Annual Veterans Day Celebration in New York.
After 28 years with Bob Kingsley at the helm of American Country Countdown --the longest-running and most listened-to countdown show in the nation-- ABC Radio Networks has decided to head in a new direction. Kingsley's contract with ABC ends on December 31 and negociations for a renewal broke down last week.
Beginning January 2006, Kix Brooks, one-half of the Country music duo Brooks and Dunn, will host the four-hour weekly show that airs on 400 radio stations and the Armed Forces Radio Network, ABC Radio Networks announced Wednesday.
