The highly-anticipated "Live Earth" concert is set for Saturday (7/7) and the Smithsonian has jumped on board to kick off the entire event with a special concert from Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood. The show takes place at the museum's Welcome Plaza on the National Mall beginning at 10:30 am with an address from Former Vice President Al Gore. Many "Live Earth" events are being carried live online. Garth Brooks' official website has no news of it as yet. The unofficial Garth site is often faster with news on him. Trisha's site is another place to watch this weekend, but at present it has not been updated since 7/3 and this show was only announced on 7/6. (click for the latest info on the show) Brooks' publicist says that the two will perform a duet of his song, "We Shall Be Free."
