Grammy®-winning singer, songwriter, guitarist, producer and Grand Ole Opry member Wariner underwent successful gall bladder surgery this morning at a Nashville hospital.
“Steve is resting comfortably. He’ll be released from the hospital in a couple of days, and then he’s expected to have a recovery period of two to three weeks,” said his wife, Caryn. “His main regret when he found out he had to have this surgery immediately was missing the BMI Awards on Saturday and the CMA Awards Reunion of past winners on Sunday. And he’s really going to miss hosting the 50th Annual Lions Club Telethon of the Stars in Paducah next weekend, because he always has a great time meeting the kids that the telethon benefits.”
