Standard and Corus Think This Is How Radio May Sound In The Future

Canada's Corus Radio just announced the launch of an interactive youth radio station over broadband. Calling it a Canadian market first, BoomBoxBaby.ca features personalities and content from Corus Entertainment's YTV, Kids Can Press and Corus Radio brands. The station, targeted at younger teens aged 12–17, broadcasts exclusively on the Web with user-generated on-air content.

SRG's Iceburg Radio already has over 100 channels streaming commercial-free music, 24/7.

While, America's big radio companies are pursuing IBOC, the Canadians appear to think the future is on broadband audio. The truth, of course, is probably that they are both right. How many different platforms can you project your brand onto? Consider the potential.
