The country STAR (94.9) vanished from the air Tuesday morning, replaced with a monotone countdown to a new format coming about Thursday noon. When the publicity stunt ends, the old STAR format will be relaunched Thursday as WYGY-FM, the “country Wolf” on 97.3, says Jim Bryant, market manager for four Entercom (formerly CBS Radio) stations here.
