Glamour Loves Cover Girl Faith Hill

"
Faith Hill, on tour for the first time in six years—and (shocker!) still in love after a decade of marriage—the singer talks about fame, family and how not to get divorced."

Laurie Sandell for GLAMOUR: OK, so there’s no dirt on you, ever: No marriage drama, no catfights with coworkers, no gushing confessionals. As someone who lives such a high-profile life, how have you managed to avoid any kind of scandal?

FAITH HILL: Well, there are things I’ve done in the past I’m not proud of—and I could talk about them if I wanted to—but I don’t reveal my secrets…. I prefer certain things to remain personal; there have to be boundaries. And I don’t think you need a scandal to have an interesting story.

GLAMOUR: You must be doing something right, especially now, when it seems like the tabloids are filled with stories about celeb divorces—you’re celebrating your tenth wedding anniversary. Do you have any rules for keeping a marriage together?

FH: Well, we don’t consider ourselves a celebrity couple.

GLAMOUR: You don't?

FH: No. We’ve tried to build our life and home together so that we don’t put ourselves in places that allow that kind of attention. But as for rules, I don’t have any. We have disagreements, but we got married to stay married. If you didn’t want to walk the same path or believe the same things, it could be difficult, but if you have the same goals you can get through bumpy moments. It’s remarkable to have someone walk beside you as you grow and change; it would be nice to see [marriage] that way instead of it being a major challenge.
