The New York Times reports the movie version of "A Prairie Home Companion," directed by Robert Altman and written by Garrison Keillor, is a bit of "Nashville" with a side of Powdermilk Biscuits.
The last time Altman tackled Nashville in a flick it became a cult classic, but country radio fans were left scratching their heads wondering if they should be offended or flattered. Hopefully, this won't be the case this time, due to writer Keillor's reverence for traditional music.
Who knows? Maybe we'll be playing a 'hit' by Meryl Streep one year from now? The filming certainly has the Twin Cities chattering right now.
