Christmas In Omaha

Inside Radio's Tom Taylor reports that the first station in the world has already gone all Christmas, (mark it down) on the first day of fall: "It’s already Christmas in Omaha — Clear Channel AC KEFM is “the home for holiday music.” Yes, they definitely claimed the niche. KEFM looks like the first convert to all-Christmas this year. Taylor's Inside Radio tipster says 'it was 103 degrees here yesterday!'"

Speaking on behalf of all the "at least wait until Thanksgiving" Scrooges out there, hopefully, it's just a first week of the fall ARB stunt, but when I just clicked on "just played" on their web site, indeed, here is what I saw:

Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow! - Jo Dee Messina
Winter Wonderland - Johnny Mathis
Sleigh Ride - Debbie Gibson
Christmas Song - Gloria Estefan
Santa Claus Is Coming To Town - James Taylor
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer - Jewel
What Christmas Means To Me - Paul Young
Celebrate Me Home - Kenny Loggins
Winter Wonderland - Aretha Franklin
Let It Snow Let It Snow Let It Snow - Jessica Simpson

WHEW.. turns out that it was a weekend stunt, as part of a format change. They do go into the record books, though, as the first of fall 2005... Who's going to be next? Hopefully, we can all wait until November, at least..
