I like PPM better than the diary and I believe they are both about the same goal. Getting people to listen more. I question the silly tactics (dry segues, no jocks) that will/are/could be used for short term gain versus long term loyalty. If we could switch to no measurement that would be fine but it would likely lead to "Katie bar the door" with most sales departments and the creatives days would be numbered.Lance Tidwellhttp://www.facebook.com/n/?%2Fprofile.php&id=692631651&v=feed&story_fbid=217732585096&mid=1600034G2948b863G31ca965G36noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8927785.post-18068205409317760162009-11-07T16:16:57.100-08:002009-11-07T16:16:57.100-08:00Live and Local Is the way to go...Live and Local Is the way to go...John Rudzkihttp://www.facebook.com/n/?%2Fprofile.php&id=692631651&v=feed&story_fbid=217732585096&mid=15ff678G2948b863G31c9ac2G36noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8927785.post-79970529417440386732009-11-07T14:10:13.419-08:002009-11-07T14:10:13.419-08:00Hard to believe 1984 was a quarter century ago. Oddly enough, here in this digital age known as the early 21st century, I would argue that radio was better suited to serve the needs of today's listeners, in many circumstances, 25 years ago.Robby Bridgeshttp://www.fmqb.com/article.asp?id=1571804noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8927785.post-30521601374613950882009-11-07T14:01:07.825-08:002009-11-07T14:01:07.825-08:00I suspect a contrarian will eventually show the ra...I suspect a contrarian will eventually show the radio world how programming for substance and not PPM style points will be the long term winner - with listeners and advertisers. I envy that person as they will work for an enlightened company.Bob Woodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01767606431430433544noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8927785.post-41209203209143025992009-11-07T09:54:42.906-08:002009-11-07T09:54:42.906-08:00Lee Ann Taylor

You can't have an itchy trigger finger.<br /><br />Tidwell Lance<br />Not near as many as poor long term strategy.<br /><br />Joe Knapp<br />Every single one, at least until they figure out that they should be ignoring PPM and focusing on helping local advertisers sell their products. It doesn't matter how many listeners you have. The winner is the one who makes the most money!<br /><br />Dave Newton<br />Amen, Joe Knapp. We all need a culture change. Ratings have ruled too long.
